Every day, people with poor dental health miss days at work, don’t enjoy times out with friends, and miss chances to move ahead in life. The Teeth In A Day treatment is a fix for these problems that can happen in one day.

That’s right, I said “IN ONE DAY”. We’ve been treating patients of varying ages in our practice with this revolutionary treatment for several years with great success. This type of treatment can be life-changing for patients who cannot eat a proper meal due to loose and broken teeth, or a patient spending money over and over again to patch up failing teeth.

A patient in her 50’s with advanced gum disease had been treating her condition with a local periodontist for years with no improvement. As she neared retirement, she became afraid she would lose her teeth and not be able to finance care later in life. Added to that was the insistence of a treasured family member who lived many years with ill-fitting dentures and convinced her that now was the time for her to have a beautiful and healthy smile. She received the Teeth in a Day (otherwise known as All-on-4) last year for her upper teeth, and is scheduled to do the same for her lower teeth in August.

Another patient in his 40’s, his photos featured in this article, came to our office wearing an ill-fitting partial denture and the remainder of his teeth in very bad condition. He opted to treat his top and bottom teeth in one appointment, and his case was just completed last week. When it was time to leave the treatment room, he stayed behind, smiling at himself in the mirror, incredibly pleased to move forward with the rest of his life.

We’ve also provided this treatment for patients in their 70’s, patients who wore dentures for so many years, always having difficulty with them falling out while speaking and laughing, unable to eat the foods they love because the dentures were so unstable. The Teeth in a Day treatment is excellent for these patients, providing instant relief from the discomfort of denture sores and embarrassment of dentures slipping out at social events.

So…what DOES “Teeth in a Day” really mean? This actually refers to the “All-on-4” procedure, a term coined by Nobel Biocare, a dental implant manufacturing company. It means literally replacement of all the teeth in one jaw supported by four dental implants. This doesn’t happen without planning, and careful measuring and discussion about the fit, look, and function of the new teeth is discussed prior to the actual start of treatment. Then this minimally-invasive treatment takes place right in the dental chair while the patient sleeps! When the patient wakes up, the bad teeth have been removed, and the new smile is in; in fact, patients can even eat solid food quite quickly after treatment. Essentially, the Teeth In A Day treatment gives patients hope and confidence in a beautiful and healthy new smile.

While treatment may seem expensive, it actually may save money over having several years of expensive tooth repair and continued breakdown of those teeth over time. There is a great range of fees for dental implant treatment in general, from $5,000 to $35,000 per jaw, and we are able to give a variety of dental implant options for patients wanting to replace a single tooth to all of their teeth. For many of the patients we see, fear of treatment has actually been the biggest reason for the current dental condition, but we can now create a very relaxing experience for our patients to regain their oral health.
